OpenVPN access server on Amazon VPC vs free version

http://serverfault.com – Maybe I'm missing the point, but I'd like to setup simple VPN access with software VPN to access my private network on Amazon VPC. I thought OpenVPN would be a great solution for this, and I thought it might make sense to put this on the NAT instance that comes with VPC so I don't have to spend money on another instance. Is there any advantage to running the following: http://www.openvpn.net/index.php?option=com_content&id=493 vs sticking to the free solution of OpenVPN? What does one offer over the other? Any reason not to run this on the NAT instance itself? (HowTos)

I have a VPS that I want to connect to from my home machine via OpenVPN, but I also want that VPS to connect to another OpenVPN server.

I'm using OpenVPN Access Server 1.8.4.213 in Amazon VPC.

I have been looking for hours, for a way to set up an OpenVPN server on an Amazon EC2 instance that's running Windows Server 2008 R2.

All of the tutorials I have found deal with EC2 Linux, Ubuntu, etc. And we have already bought a Windows Reserved instance, so switching is not an option.

I have tried translating the commands, but since I am not well versed in Linux, this has been a challenge.

I have an ec2 instance running. I connect it via ssh. It looks good for me. Now my team lead asks me to set up an OpenVpn. I wonder why should I do this.

With the ssh command, I can connect to my ec2 instance and transfer the file. ssh is secure.

And creating a openvpn also going to allow me to transfer the file.

So what makes openvpn more powerful than ssh?

I recently setup a cheap VPS for the sole intention of using it as a VPN server so I can access geo restricted content.

I used a script to setup OpenVPN server on the VPS and retrieved the keys for use on my client Win 7 OpenVPN.

On my Win 7 client, I can connect to the VPN, but I can't use the internet.

I'm a novice when it comes to networking and my needs are quite basic.

I have an OpenVPN server and I can connect to it just fine but I can not communicate with any other hosts on the network including the server. I can't ping from the server to an OpenVPN client, I can't ping from an OpenVPN client to the OpenVPN server, I can't ping from OpenVPN client to OpenVPN client or from OpenVPN client to normal LAN host and vise-versa.
