OpenSUSE connects to wireless network, but not internet.

http://www.linuxquestions.org – In openSuse I can connect to a wireless network. It says that it is connected, and I can open the router page (http://192.168.1.1/basic.html). But I cannot load any other pages. Nothing else recognizes internet either; I tried using konqueror, YAST and wget with the command line, and none of them could load anything. It is not a router problem or a wireless card problem because both Ubuntu and Kubuntu can connect, from the same computer. I know this is odd because in the only other thread I could find with this issue, it was a different distro and installing openSuse seemed to fix it. Any ideas? I have an older model Sharp PCal27 with a Ralink RT2500 wireless LAN card. I have been able to connect previously to a linksys wireless network but I am not able to connect to a new Verizon Mifi 2200 card. Any suggestions on setup would be appreciated. I am able to connect to the Verizon card via a usb cable but not wireless.

Running Mandriva One 2010, wireless works great in Live mode. When installed, I can only connect to unsecured networks (BTFon, BTOpenzone) but not to my own BTHomeHub network, which has a WPA key. I guess the problem is something to do with wpa_supplicant, but I'm not 100% sure what to do about it.

Hello! I'm a 1st time user of linux and don't really know much about it so sorry if my question is not appropriate or something like that. Anyway, I installed ubuntu on Virtual machine workstation and vm is installed on vista. My problem is related to connecting to wireless networks trough ubuntu. I don't know how to see them.

I'm running the 64-bit version of Fedora 12 on a MacBookPro5,1 system. I am unable to connect to my wireless network, which shows up in the list of available wireless networks.

I will enter my password and the system will try for several seconds to establish a connection and then fail.

I all, I 've two computer with Ubuntu 9.10 (desktop version)connected by cross over cable. I try to connect this computers in LAN with the following command:

Hello there, I am new to RedHat, and I installed RHEL 5.1 on my laptop (Acer aspire 4736z). After my installation I found out my LAN and wireless network is not working.

using following command shows my ethernet and wireless devices as :

/sbin/lspci

Hi folks, just got a new computer, yanked out my harddisks from its predecesor, plugged them in in the correct order and bingo, it started up, wow!

I had some problem with creating the non-root user during installation of OpenSUSE 11.2 so i had to create the user my self. When logged into this account i can connect to my wireless account but i cannot access internet but as root i can access the internet.

I guess it must be some user management issue. But my knowledge is pretty limited in that area.
