The X11 log below shows a problem: First, the resolution is set to "1920x1080@50p" which is great. The login dialog seems to be fine at 1920x1080@50p. After I login, the resolution changes to "1920x1080_60". The mode "1920x1080_60" is NOT even defined in my xorg.conf. I only have ModeLine and Mode defined for "1920x1080@50p". I wonder who is setting the other mode ("1920x1080_60")?
Hello people,From Thursday and been having a annoying bug with Xfce which is that it does not keep the settings screen resolution placed after a Shutdown / Restart.
The monitor I have is a iiyama ProLite 82274HDS. The resolution of the display has according to fedora 17 a maximum of 1280x1024. It can't be changed in a higher value.
With Windows 7 it operates in resoluton style 1920x1080 without any problems.
I recently installed Fedora 14 KDE and NVIDIA proprietary driver for GeForce FX 5200. I'm able to change the resolution to 1920x1080 (Acer H213H 21.5" lcd monitor), but when I restart the box, I lose these settings and I have to fiddle with NVIDIA and KDE monitor settings until I get the settings back.
I have one monitor and one tv.
monitor res = 1440x900
tv res = 1920x1080
I want to offset them, so the tv starts at the bottom right of the monitor:

I have a new monitor (to me) and I am trying to increase the screen resolution. I have tried everything I have found in the forum with no luck. The system is F17, kernel 3.5.2-3.fc17 x86_64, with Kmod Nvidia to match, and KDE 4.8 or whatever installs with F17. The maximum resolution the system will allow me is 1024x768 and I am trying to get to 1920x1080.
I have Viewsonic VX2253MH-LED monitor. It worked with Ubuntu on 1920x1080 resolution for almost 1 year. But now suddenly the resolution changed and 1920x1080 option is not available in the list of resolution.
Can anyone help me in bringing back the 1920x1080 resolution?

I have a problem with screen resolution, xrander shows that maximum resolution is 1600x1200, and my screen naive resolution is 1920x1080
I'm using DVI-VGA adapter to connect my monitor, so i think the problem is caused by it.
Before i installed AMD drivers, i was able to change resolution by adding new mode in xrandr and running it.
Now, however, this feature does not work, nothin
So I have an Acer x163w widescreen monitor.
In monitor setting my Monitor is an unknown.
My resolution size is stuck at 1024x768 i believe.
I have tried manually to change the screen resolution and nothing.
I am running Ubuntu 12.10 on an Hp Pavillion m7360 Desktop.
Updating the NVidia drivers sends my machine into a storm and things just fall apart until I have to do fresh install.
