I am running Ubuntu 12.10 with KDE desktop (which I installed after I couldn't get myself to like Unity).
In the Kickoff menu, the hibernation option is not available. How do I enable it?
As a temporary work-around, I use the command pm-hibernate but I would like to be able to do this from GUI.
Thanks.
When you open the main menu in say MS Windows (7/Vista) you can quickly search for any item (apps/docs etc.) the same in Ubuntu (Dash), Kubuntu (Kickoff menu).
Is there any easy way to add such a search input which can filter apps (at least just apps no need for docs) in LXDE's main menu?
I Google'd a lot with no success, that's why I'm here.
I am a technical person so if you can give even more
I just switched to KDE for testing and I found something quite funny:
The KDE Kickoff Menu showes up after about 1 - 2 seconds when it is klicked on.
(Klick 1 - 2 Seconds (System Freezes) Kickoff appears.)
The System freezes completly.
Not only the menu, everything.
I switched in the effect to monitor Framerate, this is when I discovered the freezing.
Hello world !
I tested openSUSE 11.2 KDE and I remember that there was too many categories in the kickoff ... For example you need to navigate in menu > application > multimedia > video to find vlc ...
Summertime is here, which means Oracle’s Global Partner Kickoff is right around the corner.
I changed from KickOff to Classic menu, and in doing so, got a big red cross saying the widget could not be loaded. I rebooted and there was no way of accessing the menus.
Hi
I have an annoying problem, which appeared after I installed the kmod driver for my nvidia card on my laptop:
Was wondering if there is a simple way to make the kickoff menu slightly larger than the panel similar to the way Windows 7 can have their (formerly-known-as) "Start" button larger?
I have KDE on my laptop and am trying to make the best use of the small screen space. The Plasma Netbook Workspaces is alright, but I ended up returning to base KDE instead.
I'm wondering if anyone here can point me how to hide menu items on KDE Mint 13...
I've got a few applications that would work better on console and i don't want it on the main menu (kickoff)
cheers
