I'm successfully using twinview to drive 2 monitors for my home theatre computer (one in the case, one projector). I recently upgraded my projector and now the two screens have vastly different resolutions (1920x1200, 848x400).
I followed the solution suggested here but making those changes in my xorg.conf file didn't help. When I restart my computer, I still have a resolution of 1280x1024 even though my native resolution is 1440x900.
I guess I'm not a total beginner to Ubuntu, but when it comes to XORG I feel like I am.
I have two monitors, monitor 1 has a resolution of 1440x900, monitor 2 has a resolution of 1600x900.
He there I posted earlier about a resolution issue on my laptop, while I'm tinkering with that, I've tossed 11.2 on a desktop I've got laying around.
I've got a different issue with this one, so I figured I'd start i new thread.
My external monitor's native resolution didn't show up, so I followed the standard procedure: tried the modelines created from either cvt or gtf, did the xrandr newMode and addmode. The new resolution then does show up in gnome-display-properties. Ok. When I select and apply it, the resolution does change, but the content of both screen displays (laptop and external) are completely screwed.
Hello forum,
I have Kubuntu 9.10 running on a Dell Vostro 1720 with 17" display with a resolution of 1920x1200. The graphics card is a GeForce 9600M GS and I am using the nvidia driver for it. At 1920x1200 everything works really well, my problem is that I can't change to a lower resolution. I've tried adding new resolutions in xorg.conf,
Hello there!
I have a problem with screen resolution, xrander shows that maximum resolution is 1600x1200, and my screen naive resolution is 1920x1080
I'm using DVI-VGA adapter to connect my monitor, so i think the problem is caused by it.
Before i installed AMD drivers, i was able to change resolution by adding new mode in xrandr and running it.
Now, however, this feature does not work, nothin
Hi all,I am using a script found on this forum to switch between two xorg.conf to enable/disable the tv-out, it work like a charm however the resolution isn't working and the error about the resolution appear on the left of the screen.
I connected a second monitor to my 9800gt on the VGA port. The first monitor is on DVI. Both monitors have a native resolution of 1920x1080 but the second monitor doesn't get past 1360x768 and appears as "Unknown" in the display settings.
I tried this guide on how to add undetected resolutions but it didn't work.
