Hello!I am new to Crunchbang, and wish I had used it sooner. It is definitely the distro for me. I've distro hopped for the past 3 years. I've used Ubuntu, Debian, zenwalk, PClinuxOS, and a slew of other distros.
Howdy 33 weeks 5 days ago Hello all. I am new to the crunchbang world. I have been using Linux Mint for sometime on my desktop, but I have had trouble finding a good distro for my somewhat archaic laptop. It is an old box, but has updated RAM and an SSD. But anyways I tried a lot and of the few that worked crunchbang was my favorite. And it is growing on me more and more.
A few words about me: some years ago I started using Linux with Ubuntu 7.10, and from that moment I have always been faithful to Debian and its derivatives. I tried (and I'm using) Debian Wheezy, Aptosid (formerly Sidux), Linux Mint Debian Edition, Mepis, Ubuntu and others. Now I'm trying CrunchBang 10 Statler with backports, and I found it a very good distro.
Hi there! I've been playing around with Crunchbang on an old server lately, and it's obiously a great desktop distro, but since it's Debian-based, and Debian's the most popular server distro right now, I'm curious if Crunchbang is just as good.
Since I am new I thought I would introduce myself. I am 32 and have been using Windows for 10 years. I currently live in the states. Utah to be particular. A year ago I took the plunge into Linux. I started with PCLinuxos and loved it. It was not fulfilling all of my needs and it was a heavy distro, so I went distro hopping. I landed on CrunchBang a few months ago and have not looked back.
Hello 41 weeks 4 days ago Hello all #!, I am still learning Linux and been distro hopping for a year or so as I did try Crunchbang Linux 10 when it first came out and enjoyed my experience but still ended up distro hopping. Until now I am back with the new Crunchbang Linux 11 and since I have now found my main distro #! it is time for me to join the best community and stop just being a lurker :D.
A short while back, crunchbang was made available to users as an XFCE distro in addition to the openbox distro...And I LOVED the XFCE distro.... to me (and a few of my pals) it was theee best XFCE distro ever....
I should have mentioned in my op that I am running Statler. I went ahead and updated from the 2.xx kernel to the 3.xx kernel. I then installed the atheros firmware and the athk9 installer and ran it. After a reboot my network was there. Im completely new to this distro and was under the impression that Statler is the stable release. Is that true or is waldorf the latest stable?
