Obtaining ip address

This may be a combination of more than one issue I'm having.

My tablet is a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (Wifi only), and my router is a Cisco DPC2325 to which I do not have admin access .

I have noticed with certain wifi protection setups my phone will go into a never ending loop of obtaining address, connecting then disconnecting and starting over again with authenticating, obtaining address, connecting ect. Is this a common bug? My sister recently changed her wifi security type but left the password the same and now it does this.

I keep getting stuck at "obtaining ip address" even though I have good signal, correct pasword (even get a message saying "secured, saved") then after "connecting" for a while during "obtaining IP address" I get a message saying "network disabled poor connection" even though I've been connecting to the same network (automatically) for weeks now.

I have had a nightmare at work trying to use the open wi-fi supplied to customer, every time i tried to connect i got the Obtaining IP address message and it would not connect.

I tried all the usual stuff and nothing worked even though workmates could connect with no problem, after much searching i eventually found this solution having tried many of the ones that didn't work that i found using g

I got my new Samsung Note 2 on December 28th. It works fine, but when i carry it to work, i cannot connect it to the office Wifi. It keeps saying, "obtaining ip address", and then doesnt connect. IV tried rebooting the modem etc. What cud be the issue?

My XT720 is stuck on connecting to wireless. It's at the "Obtaining IP Address" for a minute or two, then it states that the connection was unsuccessful. Wondering here, what do I do to fix this? I've heard set a static address, I can't do that because I don't have administrator access on the router, nor can I ask for this information.

I have wifi problems with my Samsung Galaxy Y PRO ( = qwerty ) SINGLE Sim GT-B5110 After an hard reset ( factory reset ) wifi fails obtaining IP number ( infinite loop : phone writes " obtaining IP address " ) from WLAN .

Ok so I have noticed since I updated to ICS that some networks I don't have any issues connecting to WEP/WAP no key. but then sometimes I get these networks at local places and when you put the network key in or try to connect it does this.

...... Authenticating.... Obtaining IP Address..... Saved....

And it doesn't connect to it.

Is there anyway of fixing this issue.

I've been googling for hours now and checking and tried different so called solutions available and nothing works. I've rebooted my phone and router several times, done a factory reset on my phone, reset the router, tried having a static IP address...

Using wi-fi on my Sensation with Gingerbread worked fine. I updated to ICS a while back and it stopped working.
