I am trying to use Nvidia Optimus on my laptop by using Bumblebee, I have an Intel Core i5 with an Nvidia Geforce GT 630M.
I have followed the instructions on the wiki page at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bumblebee, but when trying to run optirun with Firefox (or any other program, like glxspheres), I get the following error:
[ 1921.452820] [ERROR]Cannot access secondary GPU - error: Could not load G
Hello,I haven't tried using bumblebee's optirun for a while, but after trying today it doesn't seem to work.
I have followed http://ubuntuportal.com/2012/01/bumblebee-3-0-tumblewed-nvidia-optimus-g... this guide to install nvidia driver on my Dell Inspiron N5110 notebook (Intel HD Graphics 3000 + NVIDIA GeForce GT525M), but i always get some error while i want to start any program with the optirun command.
Terminal says:

Hi,
I've been trying to get my graphic card working under ubuntu and opensuse but to no avail.
First, i tried through additional drivers, but after installation it keeps saying "this driver is activated but not currently in use". That is 3D-accelerated proprietary graphics driver for NVIDIA cards.
OK, I have a pretty specific Optimus/CUDA/drivers question:
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 on an Acer Aspire 5750G.
I have installed ubuntu on my laptop, but i am having problems with the hdmi port. It doesnt seem to exist.
I have a nvidia gt 415m graphic card and a core i5 which would point at a problem with optimus technology, so i tried to install the new nvidia driver 319, which should help with this problem.
I've a laptop with an Nvidia optimus graphic card (GEForce GT 630m) with Ubuntu 12.04 installed. After a while of looking around, I found that the optimus controller for linus is bumblebee, so I installed it.
I would like to know whether is possible to perform GPU calculations using this driver, or Should I install the Nvidia driver?
first at all check lspci | grep -i vgaI have optimus and I see both cards, Intel and nVidia. What do you see?If you install xf86-video-intel instead of nvidia driver, does it work then?
Recently I bought notebook with NVIDIA Optimus technology, and i'm stuck in bumblebee installation.optirun -vv glxgears:[ 175.078111] [DEBUG]Reading file: /etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf
