Hi,
I have acer TravelMate 5760G Laptop, with Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics on it.
Unfortunately, I can not get it to run with Nvidia drivers, what prohibits to run it with OpenGL.
Greetings,
I need to install the drivers for my Nvidia Geforce 540M video card in order to install Bumblebee. How can I do so?
Thanks
P.S: I tried some methods I found on the net up to no avail.
Normally, i follow the sticky in this section (http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/topic
an-stable/)to install my drivers, and it works great for my desktop. However, i got a new laptop, and after going through the same process, I cant get it to work. Like i said, i have a GT 540M, so I'm not sure what package to install.
I have upgraded my laptop to dual boot Windows 8 and Ubuntu 12.10, which is fine and all, but I have been updating the drivers on the Ubuntu side of things, but I have downloaded and executed NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-310.32.run from nVidia, which didn't work.
I started to get this error message:
and could only view the desktop in 640x480 which wasn't enough to do anything.
Hello everyone!I'm quite new to ArchLinux and after installing it, I've been stuck on this issue for almost a week.I'm using an ASUS X53S with Nvidia GeForce GT 540M (and of course, Optimus tech) plus the Intel video card. Since I've installed arch linux, my fan won't stop running; so i thought it would be something heat-related (it was later confirmed by googling it).
I removed all packages associated with NVIDIA from Synaptic Package Manager and installed nvidia-current. When I click NVIDIA-Settings, gives an error like this:
You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server.
Please help me, I need your helps.
This is my first time using Ubuntu 12.04 and needless to say, I am quite lost. My laptop uses Optimus in windows, but In ubuntu I am assuming it opts for my GT 540m. My questions is how do I install proprietary drivers and is it necessary for them. Everything seems to be working, but in the system details it says "unkown" for my graphics.
I have Acer V3-771G Laptop that has 1920×1080p full HD resolution. My OS is 64 bit Ubuntu 12.04. I have Nvidia 650M GPU and integrated Intel i5 2.5 CPU graphics HD4000. I can't install nvidia-current drivers properly.
Hi
I am using 12.04 on my laptop. I read somewhere that battery life ubuntu (45 mins in my case, vs 4 hrs in win7) could be improved by using the correct graphics driver.
I have nvidia gforce gt 540m.
