http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi. For some time I installed the NVidia driver for my GeForce 9800 GT card. I have some questions: 1. If a new version driver version is released, how can I replace the current driver with this one? The driver will be installed automatically from Fedora repositories or should I do it manually (and how)? 2. I noticed today that in Fedora repository is a new kernel. Do I have to reinstall the driver after update and, if yes, do I have to disable it first (and how)? Thank for your help. Regards, Cosmin (HowTos)

How to replace nvidia kernel? 27 weeks 4 days ago

I had installed experimental ver.310 nvidia driver. Now if I want to replace it back with nvidia current 295.##(not sure) I get error saying that the driver is 295.. but kernel 310..

The process was uninstall the 310 and installing nvidia-current.

How to get rid of the experimental driver and its kernel to be able to install stable version of the driver?

Hello! I am trying to play runescape in HD.I got a GeForce 9600M GT video card. I uninstalled the xorg-x11 driver-video-nouveau driver wich was installed by default then added Nvidia in the repositories and installed what i got from Nvidia repository. But i still get Runescape was unable to enter that display mode when i try to run RS in HD mode.

I've installed Fedora 17 onto an old Samsung X30 laptop, that includes an NVIDIA GeForce FX Go 5200 card. I'm using Nvidia driver version 173.14.36

When I try to suspend or hibernate, the laptop resumes immediately.

Hi I installed nvidia drivers using terminal... i added the newest repositories, to ensure getting the newest driver, once that was complete, i ran the following command

sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

this started the download and successfully installed the (290.xx.xxx) version. The issue I have is when opening X-server application it still shows NVidia driver version 173.14.30.
