I'm running 12.04 on a Toshiba Satellite A30, and have numerous music software programs installed from my abortive attempt to connect a midi keyboard, and found most pretty confusing for my old brain to set up.
I'm now using both nted and MuseScore to generate scores for my hammer dulcimer.
Hi Folks!
I hope I put this in the right forum, if not feel free to move it.
I'm trying to find software that will let me create basic chord charts similar to what you would find in the "Real Book" books.
I'm not looking for a complicated musical score software like MuseScore or NtEd
I just want to do the basic stuff like on a staff write in key signature, time signature, Chord Names
Sourceforge: "Musical inspiration may come from heaven, but once it arrives, you'd better record it or it'll fly back to where it came from. MuseScore software lets you set down your music notation and compose (or at least create sheet music) on your computer."
Hi everyone!
The Non Sequencer is a powerful real-time, pattern-based MIDI sequencer for Linux--released under the GPL. Filling the void left by countless DAWs, piano-roll editors, and other purely performance based solutions, it is a compositional tool--one that transforms MIDI music-making on Linux from a complex nightmare into a pleasurable, efficient, and streamlined process.
Code:
echo 0.633588 1875 | awk '{print $1 * $2 * 1024}'
is there a better way to run the above command? it keeps printing out in notation and i do not want that at all.
when i run the above, i get:
Code:
1.21649e+06
OS: linux
language:bash
The first program I want to install on UStudio is a program called TablEdit, a music notation program that allows one to notate in standard notation and tablature.
I expected it would run in UStudio but when I go to the TablEdit page regarding Linux it says:

TablEdit on Linux, it works!
Roundup on 5 applications to do Music Notation, they are music engraving programs, devoted to producing the highest-quality sheet music possible.
MuseScore is a free cross-platform WYSIWYG music notation program that offers a cost-effective alternative to commercial programs such as Sibelius, Finale and Capella. You can print beautifully engraved sheet music or save it as PDF or MIDI file. MuseScore works with many different formats, including PDF and MID. Plug-ins will also extend MuseScore's functionality.
