IBM just released its Q3 2012 financials. Big Blue’s GAAP earnings came in at $3.8 billion, up 3% from the last quarter. Non-GAAP earnings were $4.2 billion. Overall, the company reported revenue of $24.7 billion, down from $25.8 billion in Q2.
Ahead of the earnings release, most analyst expected that Big Blue would report robust earnings.
HTC today officially released its financials for Q3, and the news continues to be bad for the Taiwanese smartphone maker: the company reported revenues of 70.2 billion Taiwan dollars ($2.4 billion), down 23% from last quarter’s $3 billion and 48% compared to the same quarter last year.
HP just released its Q1 2013 earnings report and for once, the company beat analyst expectations: revenue was once again down 6% to $28.4 billion, but still higher than most analysts expected. The company reported an income of $1.2 billion and EPS of $0.82.
Zynga confirmed that it started laying off U.S.-based employees ahead of what is expected to be a weak third-quarter earnings report. In all, 5 percent of the company’s full-time workforce is being let go.
Intel just reported its third quarter 2012 earnings with revenues of $13.5 billion, flat compared to the prior year. Intel’s net income was $3 billion, up 5.1% compared to last year. Operating income was $3.8 billion, flat compared to a year ago. Its earnings per share were at $0.58 cents per share, a 7.4% increase from last year.
