I have a Samsung Series 9 notebook 15" (model NP900X3C) and I would like to adjust the screen settings (brightness, contrast, saturation, etc.).
If I go to System Settings → Color, I see my screen listed as a device, but I have to add a profile in order to 'calibrate'. I am clueless about how to do that.
Is this the right place to go?
I recently did a yum update, and got a new version of nvidia drivers.
When running nvidia-settings now I find that there are no color correction settings anymore - e.g. gamma and brightness for each color channel.
After doing the update, I found that OpenGL wasn't working anymore, and had to remove /usr/lib64/libGL.so.1 to get it to work again.
I'm using Waldorf with Jessie, Liquorix and proprietary NVIDIA drivers 304.It started either when I update drivers (tried both 304 and 319) or when I installed the Liquorix kernel.Whenever I start my PC up, the screen is quite bright and I have to manually set the brightness and contrast in the NVIDIA settings (color correction).
I have an nvidia-card:
Code:
nVidia Corporation NV44 [GeForce 6200 LE] (rev a1)
USing nvidia-settings to configure the TV-out results sometimes in color, but mostly in black and white. The problem is the TV's refreshrate. It is an old PAL-B TV, and therefore it uses a refreshrate of 50hz. Nvidia-settings sometimes recoqnize this, but mostly it is outputting a refreshrate of 60hz.
I finally was able to install Debian on my powerpc, but the only way to get a GUI up is by disabling nouveau. I just use Linux nouveau.modeset=0 at the yaboot prompt. However my color is all messed up like it's been washed in tie-dye.
I'm guessing I need to configure an xorg.conf to get the card to work? I have no idea what settings to put in there.
I have installed newest Nvidia drivers (from their site with the .run file) on my laptop with Nvidia Geroce 420M.
After some time I decided to try out open source drivers there I went to System Settings -> Software Sources -> Additional drivers and clicked Open source drivers and applied the changes.
After a reboot I have had no Unity panel shown when I logged into the system.
I am unable to adjust my screen brightness at all- it is always at max brightness. I've been trying to figure out how to solve this backlight problem for quite a while now, with no success.
I have used rEFIt to achieve triple-boot on my 15' Retina Macbook Pro. However, for now I cannot get the nVidia drivers to work under Ubuntu 12.04 x64.
Every time after I installed the nVidia Driver, X won't restart, and give me an error of "No screens found".
I have tried both drivers from nVidia's website and drivers from Proprietary Drivers in Ubuntu's System Settings.
Hi. I have a problem such as in the subject. I installed nvidia's proprietary driver and after that fonts appearance changed from really nice in Chakra to small and ugly (i did't change anything in fonts settings ). Below screenshots:nouveaupnvidiaWhat should I do to have nvidia drivers and exactly the same fonts appearance as in nouveau?
