I'm using Gnome 3, and there seem to be some issues with the incoming message notifications. Sometimes it works, sometimes it works after missing a couple of messages, sometimes I just get a popup with my friends name, and sometimes I get nothing. Very annoying.
Is there any way to fix this? Or is there any clean way of replacing the whole Empathy mess with a fully functional IM client?
I installed Empathy and set up a couple of my IM accounts. It worked great. However, even when I shut down Empathy, it appears that the GNOME 3 desktop is somehow starting it up again in the background and logging into my IM accounts. I get notifications related to IM, etc. Is there any way short of uninstalling Empathy to actually turn it off and make GNOME 3 not connect to my IM accounts?
I just upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10. The thing was though, my previous install was 32 bit, while I downloaded a 64 bit for the 12.10. Anyway, I installed and as predicted, compatibility issues were a-plenty. After re-installing AwesomeWm and Gnome and configuring everything again, I noticed that notifications don't show.
I somehow had them working before in 11.10 but I don't really remember what did I do back then other than activating "load Gnome components on start up" in the XFCE's settings manager.
I've tried the same in 12.04 but doesn't seem to do anything, I specifically ask for the Volume notifications as other notifications used notify-osd or xfce4-notifyd but the volume one was Gnome's (I found that lat
Since moving to the Droid from the iPhone, one of my few disappointments has been notifications. If I miss a call, email, sms, have a voicemail, etc, I either get no notification or only sometimes get a notification. I could find no setting anywhere on the stock droid to change that in any way. I could be ******ed.
If I pull down my Notifications bar, there's an option to disable Notifications.
I'm looking for some way to code this into an NFC tag. NFC Task Launcher doesn't seem to have an option to turn Notifications off - it lets you change the notifications ring tone, volume or LED light, but not actually disable them.
Any ideas?
I have a quick question. I have a mytouch 4g and I am not new to android. Ive also had an iPhone. If anybody has seen pictures of ios 5 notification center, it groups the notifications. For an example all the phone notifications would be together, as well as messages and whatever else. If your not sure what I'm talking about then just look up ios 5 notification center on google.
I am not receiving any sort of notifications when I receive new e-mails. I am not using google mail, but my e-mail addresses are linked with the Samsung e-mail app. In order to see my new e-mails I must open to app and click on the refresh button.
I am attempting to filter every notification through espeak.
However, I can't seem to find a way to get the notification body from a python script, or even what signal_name to listen to.
bus.add_signal_receiver(espeak,
dbus_interface="org.freedesktop.Notifications",
signal_name="??")
Trying to google for this only seems to yield results involving creating
