Notifications

Is there a way to get notification badge bubbles for missed calls, messages and emails on both lockscreen shortcuts and homescreen icons? I'm only getting bubbles for Messaging on lockscreen now (not on homescreen) and I want it to be able to show bubbles for other apps.

I was wondering if there is a way to tweak Unity, so that when someone sends me an IM, I would receive n OSD notification similar to what I receive for incoming emails. Right now, all that happens is the mail icon turns blue, but there is no bubbles on screen, like what is shown here

I'm creating a bounce email system where emails can reply to messages on my site.

I am attempting to filter every notification through espeak. However, I can't seem to find a way to get the notification body from a python script, or even what signal_name to listen to.

I have a quick question. I have a mytouch 4g and I am not new to android. Ive also had an iPhone. If anybody has seen pictures of ios 5 notification center, it groups the notifications. For an example all the phone notifications would be together, as well as messages and whatever else. If your not sure what I'm talking about then just look up ios 5 notification center on google.

How can I change the settings so that when I pull down notifications bar it won't show me content of emails or text messages? I still want them there, but only as a simple list of 1-line-per-item, as it used to be.

I know google made this feature to put reply etc buttons in there, but I would really like the notifications be as they used to.

I only recently got my first smartphone, still busy setting preferences etcetera...

I managed to set a doorbell sound for notifications of SMS or whatsapp messages. That's great.

But tonight I was woken up by that stupid doorbell. When I looked in the morning, there was no message.

So I guess other notifications generate this tone, too.
