Hi. I am new to the server world and I just installed Centos 6.3 on my Dell PowerEdge 2850. I set up two RAID 1's using the server's RAID controller (Perc 4e). So I have 2 146 GB HDDs in ... [by Nameo0]
I have a Dell Poweredge 6950 running server 2012 with 4 hdds. 80gb raptor (with OS), 2 500gb WD black in raid 0 and a 1tb raptor.
I shut off the server, removed the 2 hdds in raid and the 1tb raptor. Then I turned it on, realized I forgot a file on the raid, turned it off, put the hdds back in (in the same spot too) and now it wont recognize the raid or the 1tb raptor.
Hello everyone. I recently acquired a Dell poweredge 2950 (dual quad core xeon processors and 16GB of ram) beside the fact that it is super loud. it does a fantastic job of being my VM + Plex media server + seedbox +DNS/DHCP +squid
it came with 2 1TB hard drives in a raid 1 configuration with perc 5/i I installed ubuntu server 13.10 in a LVM on the virtual disk created by the RAID controller.
I have leased a dell poweredge r210 server, it's default configuration is CentOS 5.x as OS and a hardware RAID 1 controller configured. I want to configure my hardware RAID but can't seem to figure out where.
I am working on decommissioning an old server for a client. The server is an older Dell PowerEdge 1600sc with four SCSI drives. Two are stand-alone, and the other two are in RAIDx (not sure the actual RAID id). It does not have an integrated RAID controller (nothing under integrated devices in the BIOS related to RAID), the client has a PowerEdge Expandable RAID controller PCI card for that.
