http://askubuntu.com – I reviewed a lot of other post but nothing so far seems to work for me. My problem is similar to those that used to happen with wpa/wpa2 security and ubuntu. The thing is that my computer is having issues to connect to my wifi, but the security protocol that I'm using is WEP. On the other hand I know is not incompatibility between the chipset and the modem because the partition that still has windows connects without problem. Other computer that I have with ubuntu 12.04 and that one has no problem connecting. Whenever I make my computer connect to the wifi network keeps trying to connect wit (HowTos)

I can't make sense of this. My phone (dinc2) running jb connects to the wifi no problem, but my nexus refuses to connect. It tries and cycles through authenticating, saved, connecting... But can't make it. My nook color had the same problem.

The router is an apple airport or whatever, and the security is wpa2.

I am creating a wifi hotspot. It does connect with adhoc connection but that my android doesnot detect. When i select security type to WPA & WPA2 Personal. It keeps connecting and never connects. Why it only connect to adhoc and not with WPA ? any solution?

I am currently using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and I have a problem with auto connecting to my network.

The problem occurs sometimes when my wireless network drops out - which happens at least 3 times a day. Usually there is no problem, but from time to time the system doesn't want to connect to the network.

Hello! I have a Broadcom 4306 rev.3 card on my computer and I am running Ubuntu 12.10. I have been trying to install firmware-b43-installer along with fwcutter, expecting something to happen. My computer can search for networks and I see my network and and I can put the password in, but then it cannot connect.

I'm using 12.10 on a Samsung Q45 laptop and cannot connect to one specific wifi hotspot where I work. This is the only hotspot that I cannot connect to. Every other hotspot I can connect to without any problem. If I use my Win7 Pro (64bit) laptop with my work hotspot then it connects immediately. Nobody else (they all use windows) has any problems connecting to the work hotspot.

Here's an interesting problem I've been having with Ubuntu 11.10 on my laptop. My wireless has absolutely no issues with connecting to public networks like hotel wifi and libraries.

Hi everyone, well, I have been searching for two days now, and haven't found any solution to my problem.

SO, basically, here it is : I used to be able to connect to my home wifi without any problem. I had a WEP key. A few days ago I used Backtrack 5 on my computer (usb-boot) and tried to find MY wifi's key, because I wanted to test it.

I'm using Samsung NP900X3C.

I have problem with occasionally connecting to WIFI, with Ubuntu 12.10. Sometimes my computer could not connect to WIFI "blab", neither after reboot computer.

Only solution is restart WIFI hotspot. It's public WIFI, used by many users, that don't have that problem.

I am having a problem with my Wifi.

When I try to connect to a wifi network, and the first time it connects fine, and stays connected. But if I leave, or disconnect, then it won't re-connect ever again. It spends about 2 minutes searching/connecting and then I get an error message saying: "Attention Network Disabled.
