hi,
i'm having issues with upgrading from fedora 16 to fedora 17.
I use "preupgrade" to do the update. When executing this command, at some point, after downloading the packages for the new release, fedora reboots and does the rest of the installation.
After almost a dozen tries , I was able to install Fedora 18. The problem I faced was just as the fedora logo loads up during startup, my machine hanged.
After installation , fedora booted up with no problems. But when I restarted the system, it again hanged and till now I have not been able to boot up fedora.
Hi,
I am new at this forum, so I hope I am in the right place.
This is the issue.
Hello friends,
I have bought a HP-g6-2230sa laptop, which comes with win8.
I have managed to install fedora18 in it.
But the problem is I cannot make it to boot f18 by default. The usual process to boot to fedora is: start the machine-> be very fast to press F9-> select Fedora (or else it will go to os boot manager and will boot win8).
I'm trying to dual-boot Fedora 17 and Windows XP. I installed Fedora from the live-cd with no problem onto a second hard drive, and put GRUB2 on the first drive so it's the boot loader.
When I try to boot Fedora I get a "Cannot open file font True" message and it stops booting. I looked around and found that the error should only delay the booting, and found how to fix it.
Hi All,
I am trying to install Linux Fedora 12 in duo boot with Windows XP.
I burned ISO image to DVD and install Fedora 12 from DVD.
During installation, I select country, language then Fedora displays a list of drivers (looks like network driver).
I hit F12 and select install from DVD drive but Fedora says Fedora not on the DVD.
Hello people
I like so much the fedora, I`m using it now on my USB pen drive and I loving it:dance:
But... after the installation on my HD, I select to boot Fedora, then the screen became black and I can`t do anything. I can onlye see a blurry on the top of my monitor and I can see a little of my mouse pointer on the top of screen and I can move it.
I have googled this and I refuse to believe the answer is "older video card" or "ubuntu". Does anyone know what boot parameters to use or how to get Fedora to start the install process in a resolution other than the "Optimum resolution"? resolution=640x40 vga=ask. These do not work.
Hi,
I'm a beginner to Linux. I installed Fedora v.7 a couple months back on a Dell desktop (dual boot with WinXP). I am trying to upgrade to the latest version now and having some problems. I tried to upgrade to Fedora v 10 using yum update, but get the following error: "Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: anaconda-upgrade-install".
