http://forum.xda-developers.com – I recently had my 1 tb hdd on my sony laptop replaced with a 180 gig ssd. I let best buy do the switch because it was free and I figured why not. When I got it back with a clean install on the ssd there is only 95 gigs free. The c drive says 95 free out of 129 total. I knew I wouldn't get the whole 180 but why only 129? Just wondered if this is normal or not as this is my first ssd. (HowTos)

hey I have an external drive that's messing up and missing free space. in property's it reads total capacity as 931.5GB 931.5GB's used and 72.0KB free space but the total files in the drive only come to 442.2GB's worth of data

and I tried deleting a few things, then emptying the garbage bin and no the free space stayed at 72.0KB

The following three outputs were taken essentially simultaneously:

Use these two apps and you will never have a problem of running out of free space again. The apps are gl to sd and link2sd. I have manged to push about 10+ gigs of data to my 32 GB SD card and I still have 4 gigs of free space left on my tab. Thats crazy considering you only get 4.59 free out of the 8 gigs you are given.

I recently purchased a HP Pavilion G6-2005AX laptop.

I came back from vacation, inserted my ubuntu flash drive into server and fired it up, only to find out that df -h reports 0 free space. 100% full 3.8GB drive.

I installed ubuntu server on flash usb key, and I'm pretty sure it was half empty before leaving. Plus I had it unpluged during my stay out so no hacking could take place.

Now I wonder what happened with free space? corrupted? damaged?

I recently increased space and swap space for ubuntu on my laptop. Even though the space got increased, my swap is not being recognized. It is showing as 0 bytes of space. However, interestingly, when I boot from live cd and click try ubuntu, space for swap is being recognized.

I am running centos 5.8 with cpanel. Lately I am getting reports that my swap is full , but there is a lot of free memory to use.
