I have a residential router/gateway/ADSL modem with a netbook and laptop both running #! connected wirelessly. I have an Ubuntu server connected to the router too via Ethernet. I have configured the router to give the same IP address to each machine based on Ethernet or wireless MAC address. Each of the computers can see the router and the gateway and the Internet. The two wireless #!
I just bought a TRENDNET TDM C4000 (=modem/ wiredrouter) and got it working. If I connect my computer with through the ethernet port directly, the internet will work. However, when I try connecting the ends of the ethernet cable on the modem and my wireless router, it's not transmitting. I know I set up the wireless router correctly because it worked with my previous modem.

I know this is off topic, so let us keep this brief.I need some suggestions as to how to set up the following:I want a dedicated open wireless router with which anyone can associate. This router will not provide Internet access, but, rather, will be served by a web sever running on a dedicated machine. I want all traffic from all computers associated with the router to redirect to an i
Situation: 20 computers in the same windows workgroup. They are connected with some switches. Then there is router and a firewall (2 separate hardware, but I don't know how they are connected) with the physical ADSL modem to the internet.
Computers have mostly windows XP, some windows 7.
We have a small office network with DSL and a Netgear WNR-2000 wireless router acting as a DHCP server. There are nine devices connected to the router, wirelessly and wired. Whenever a Mac computer tries to connect, it's unsuccessful until we restart the router.
I have an eircom zyxel router hooked up to an ethernet port in my college room. The internet works fine but I have no idea why. It is connected to a network with the 192.168.1.etc range and it's default ip address is 192.168.1.254.
The router itself does not have it's internet light on, suggesting that it is not working, and I cannot access the router cp to test it.
Hi guys.
I don't know much about wireless, so here is a question for you all.
I recently moved to a new place, which is cool. Unfortunately the modem sits in one end of the apartment and the office is at the opposite end, and routing an Ethernet cable is pretty tricky since I rent and can't really drill holes in the wall.
