No Wired network?

view story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I just did a fresh install of Fedora 17, and I it won't allow me to connect to my wired network? I don't have a wireless adapter, so getting the ethernet connection to work is a must. My network adapter is an Intel 82578DC Gigabit. I tried looking at the Intel site and downloaded the Linux* driver but it's a tar.gz file, which I can't get Fedora to install. Also, I can't access any wired option, and when I try to turn on the Wired connection, it shuts itself off and says there's nothing plugged in. >.< (HowTos)
