I'm trying to install F18 (from USB live system - install to hard disk).
When it comes to selecting language, I select English (US) as English (UK) doesn't appear to be available. Since this is only for the installation process, this doesn't worry me.
But when it comes to Keyboard layout, I have a serious problem.
I am attempting to automate an install of the Ubuntu 12.10 LiveCD (on a USB). The Installer will do everything except automatically pick a keyboard layout. Below is the portion of my preseed3.cfg that should select the language and keyboard layout.
Hey guys,
On my Tablet (TF700T) I only use Android keyboard in 2 languages, English and another language. How can I switch the layout on the Dock?

I have problem with keyboard layout "English (US), English (international AltGr dead keys)". I add it, and all works fine, but when i restart xubuntu 12.04 LTS keyboard layout "English (US), ..." is missing and all keyboard layout settings is set to default.
I need two keyboard layouts: SK, EN (US), but after restart only SK is available. EN not present.
I have Ubuntu 11.10. I have an English keyboard and have set the keyboard layout to English (UK) in the System settings -> Keyboard Layout. It is the only layout listed.
Recently my keyboard has gone to US layout.
In my distribution (Slackware 13.37), the console keyboard layout is chosen among some of those available in /usr/share/kbd/keymaps ' sub directories, coming from the kbd package.
Under X instead the keyboard layout is chosen in a "layout" list included in the file /etc/X11/xkb/rules/evdev.lst.
Does anybody knows a way to, given some console keyboard layout, map it to an X keyboard layout, in o
I've just installed cinnamon and looks great. Except I can't see where to set the keyboard layout. There doesn't seem to be a keyboard layout icon on the panel and if I go into cinnamon settings->keyboard all I get are a couple of tabs saying Typing and Keyboard Shortcuts but no keyboard layout? And ideas please?
For a long time, I've had my keyboard configured to use the layout currently known as "English (international AltGr dead keys)." I like this layout because without any modifier keys, it's identical to the US English keyboard, but when I hold Right Alt I can get accented letters and other characters not available on a standard US English keyboard.
In Oneiric, however, the layout is messed up.
