I've been running a Suse 11.2 and ubuntu 9.04 on an internal HDD in separate partitions for about 6 months on an Acer aspire with 756 meg ram. I installed Suse first then Ubuntu as I couldn't work out how to alter the partitions and keep Ubuntu when installing Suse first.
I am working without a net here. All of my data, terrabyte of family photos...etc.

Hi, I recently installed Ubuntu 9.10 on a system with SUSE 11.2/11.1 and windows 2000 on it. Before i put Ubuntu on i was using the GRUB with 11.2. Now, i am using ubuntu grub. Is there any way to install GRUB from 11.2 back into the MBR.
Thanks,

I recently switched back to suse from ubuntu and I know in ubuntu when installing from source, i could enter the command auto-apt to automatically install all dependencies. However since suse does not use the APT system, i cannot use that command. Is there a way of auto installing required dependencies of a tarball, not rpm, in suse like i was able to do in ubuntu?
