I have TVTime installed on 12.04 on a flash drive and this program works fine.
Today I installed 12.04.1 on my desktop and have no sound in TVtime.
Any thoughts
I see TVtime has a folder in /etc/tvtime and a hidden file .tvtime in the home directory.
That seems strange.
Settings on Chromium show TVtime sound coming through on mic test and no input from the mic
is available by user.
Earlier there was no sound on TVtime and I realized alsamixer "line" was shut down.
Sound on TVtime is fine now but is backing through the mic now.
Thoughts
Recently I've upgraded from 11.2 to 11.3, but DVD will not play with Xine anymore. It will start the DVD up to the menu, but when I select play Xine stops and states that my audio device is busy. This is however not the case, because I'm only running Xine and sound works up into the menu of the DVD. I have Xine configured to work with Alsa, since that is the only way to get 5.1 sound.
Have been trying to configure Skype so that i can make video calls. The webcam works great but i can't get the sound? The only option under sound devices is: PulseAudio server (local) which doesn't work? Could someone help me please. Thanks
Recently installed 11.2x64 with KDE4.
Everything is working great (excellent release!) with the exception of sound.
The sound works well when only one app needs it, but sound only works for one app. If another program is open, it has no sound.
Some examples: - If I am listening to an .mp3 with VLC, I don't get sound in a movie in SMplayer.
I am running Skype installed via yum: skype-2.0.0.72-fc5.i586 on F11 x86_64
My sound is working perfectly under VLC etc. but I cannot get anything out of Skype. Test calls produce deafening silence.
I am really unclear on how the sound stuff works.
Help please!
Thanks,
Michael
I've installed a tv card but I can't hear the sound through my built-in CMedia soundcard when I watch tv with TVTime. The tv card's audio output is externally connected to my soundcard's line in input. In the 'Input' tab of the 'Sound Preferences' dialog, I can see the input level meter moving.
I am playing a legally purchased, factory made movie DVD, but the sound is going up and down, too low to hear up to super loud and back all throughout the movie. The meters on my volume controls do not change, just the way I hear it changes. I am assuming it is some type of DRM, but is there any way around it?
Ok, i got Ubuntu 12.04 , the problem come with the sound driver, Ok, may time when my Ubuntu restarted its seem that the driver is being disable, that one problem, the other problem is that when my mike and sound is working find on skype, and when i am trying to play some music on my computer specially when i am on video call we can heard any sound out .
