Hi, I have upgraded my ancient desktop with a second hand box.. installed #! statler and all works great apart from no sound. The sound works on my XP boot so hardware should b fine.Im using the HDMI from my nvidia GT220.
hi, i am trying to use fedora-14-live or linuxmint-10-live on an acer revo. it boots up fine on both but i am unable to play sound thru the hdmi cable (connected to my blu-ray 5.1 system).

I am having some problems getting sound to work over the HDMI interface on my laptop. I have tried going to System/Preferences/Sound to try and change the settings to HDMI but there are no HDMI options to choose from. How do I find out if HDMI sound is supported by the nvidia drivers I am using? I had a look at this thread;
I have an GT520 graphics card and I am trying to get the sound working with my XBMC setup and I'm having trouble.

I've got onboard sound and an nvidia card with HDMI out. I managed to get sound going out of the nvidia for my XBMC setup but I can't get my onboard sound to actually do anything. I want XBMC to the hdmi and everything else to be local.
(Ubuntu 12.04 x64)
After looking at other questions (here and other sites) and trying their respective answers, I am still unable to get the hdmi audio out working.
I have an F17 machine with an Intel Ivy Bridge CPU w/embedded Intel HD4000 GPU.
When I plug my HDMI into a TV the video works great but I get no sound.

I recently installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my desktop. Now at first glance everything seemed to be Ok. My computer has two sound cards, one is integrated Nvidia soundcard and second one is Creative X-FI. First I plugged my speakers on to my X-Fi card which I downloaded drivers for. How ever I did not manage to bring out any audio out of it.
