Since the 11.10 I have this problem: when I start my notebook, Speakers do not work, Whereas headphones do.
After standby and resume, Usually but not always, Everything works well.
Any idea how to solve this issue?
My Notebook specs:

HP Elitebook 8440p
the output of aplay -l is the following:

I have an F17 machine with an Intel Ivy Bridge CPU w/embedded Intel HD4000 GPU.
When I plug my HDMI into a TV the video works great but I get no sound.
aplay -l
Code:

I only see Internal A

Hello everyone!
I've searched the forum on how to get the sound working on a HP Pavilion dv6 1100eo, but I've had no success. I've updated alsa to the latest version, 1.0.21 and double, triple, quadruple checked the volume controls to see if anything is muted; nothing is. I also tried aplay -l to see if the sound card was recognized.
