Hello,I have a fresh install of CrunchBang, everything is great apart from the sound isn't working. I've used CrunchBang before and I remember that the sound didn't work at first then either, but I eventually managed to get it working. Unfortunately, I can't remember what I did to fix it.I've searched through a lot of the existing topics on these forums and oth
Hello, I am quite new to the Linux experience and I've recently downloaded Crunchbang onto my laptop. Everything works except that it will not play sound on my #! partition, but it will play sound on my W7 partition. I've looked at numerous posts and threads regarding this topic but no solution really worked (or I couldn't get it to work).
Hello,I am using Crunchbang 9.04.The sound all in a sudden stopped working one day. The VolWheel icon has become a white square with a red cross inside. And the log-on page does not play the sound. But upon shutdown, the sound works.Any help would be much appreciated.
I've searched the sound threads, but haven't found a solution. OpenSUSE 11.2 64, Audigy 4 sound card, analog stereo speakers. There is no sound at startup, I have to use alsamixer and disable the "S/PDIF Optical Raw" setting, then sound works fine for the rest of my session. How do I save this? I've tried alsactl store as root, but it doesn't save it.
I've had good success troubleshooting #!
On a freshly installed lubuntu quantal ppc I have no alsamixer in terminal. I have reinstalled alsa-utils package and ran the command sudo rm /etc/modrpobe.d/blacklist.local.conf which did the trick in 12.04. I still have no sound or audio icon on taskbar, but alsamixer showed up in terminal for a while with a message; "this sound device does not have any controls".
