Hi. I wrote some time ago about my problems with sound in PulseAudio. I decited to remove it, and use only ALSA like I was few months ago (I think). Currently in alsamixer I have only "PulseAudio" master volume, before that I had more sliders. But... how to remove PulseAudio? Pacman says, that gnome-settings-daemon depends on pulseaudio. How can I disable it?
Greetings forum.
As the title alludes to, I am using Linux Lite 1.0.4 and I am having problems getting the sound to work properly.
My sound card is a PCI - "Creative Labs, Sound Blaster Live 5.1" surround sound card, and the problem is, I cannot get sound from anything other than the front speakers.
I have tried adjusting the options in the sound preferences - Menu> Multimedia>
With my upgrade to Fedora18 the "JACK Audio Connection Kit" is verry often loosing sound
the origin of this little misery is "bluetoothd" the Bluetooth handler.
After a lot of time (and negative votes) I decided to install pulseaudio, since sound in my 9.10 system was not working properly. And I must admit that solved almost all of my sound problems. All is left is a small one. My mic works perfectly. I tested it under audacity. But when it comes to skype I can't get it working.
Hi everyone, I have the following "problem": my sound card is a Audiotrack Prodigy 7.1 hifi but looking in hardinfo the modules loaded for the codecs are "snd_ak4xxx_adda" and "snd_ak4114" witch are for AKM codecs and my card has Wolfson ( WM8776/8766 )codecs .
Hi Folks
I'm using NoMachine's FreeNX client on my Vista PC to access my Fedora 12 box. Mostly works a real peach and I'm very impressed with it. But...... Working through some of the stuff I'd "like" it to do I'm struggling with enabling sound.
I've enabled the Multimedia setting in the NX Client. I've loaded via Add/Remove Software,
I ran software update and my sound stopped working.
I rebooted with the old kernal (3.3.8-1) and the sound is OK.
I rebooted with the new kernal (3.4.2-1.fc16.i686.PAE) and there is no sound again.
The folowing is from /var/log/messages.

I used one of the help guides for establishing hdmi sound here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2142636
and also installed pulseaudio volume control. I can see the hdmi sound which would come out of my tv speakers yet isn't. In PulseAudio, the sound bar pulses which shows sound activity. The picture is great. The sound is no longer sent out of the built in speakers. My TV is not muted.
I am having some issues with the sound settings in Ubuntu 12.10 on my Dell Inspiron 640m laptop.
Sound works fine out of box, but if I select the item from the "Play sound through" list of the "Output" tab of the sound settings, my account's sound is broken until I remove the ~/.pulse directory.
The item in question is "Digital Output (S/PDIF): Built-in Audio".
