http://forum.xda-developers.com – Hey everyone! CyanogenMod announced yesterday that we will not ever get official CM9. While many assumed this, some still held hope. However, it is not just our device that won't get it. All 1st Generation Snapdragon devices will not be received official CM9 (this included the MSM7227, the processor in the Wildfire S). Some time back we had reported a way to have KDE 4.3 on Slackware Current using vbatt's packages, since KDE 4.3 was still not official on Slackware. Now, you no longer have to depend on third-party packages for KDE 4.3.2 on Slcakware. It has become official.

It might as well be Christmas morning for the Android lovers of the world. These are very exciting times for sure. Instead of leaks, we are now seeing a bevy of official news and links regarding the devices that we’ve been speculating about for what seems like all year.

Patrick Volkerding has announced the official port of Slackware for the ARM architecture, by the name of ARMedslack, which has recently released the port of Slackware version 12.2.

In a Google+ post yesterday, the CyanogenMod team announced that Ice Cream Sandwich (CM9) and Jelly Bean (CM10) won’t be supported for Snapdragon S1 devices. One such phone is the Nexus One and they stated that it would require a custom hboot to repartition the internal memory. The fact that there is only 512MB of RAM certainly doesn’t help the matter.

Yesterday on the Google Official Blog, Max Ibel, Director of Engineering, announced several changes to Google products. Included was the news that Google is officially pulling the plug on the Google Listen app. Launched in August 2009, Google Listen was a way to access podcasts.

Google asked readers what they wanted to see more of on the Google Mobile Blog and Android seemed to be the unanimous choice. So today marks the final post for the Google Mobile Blog and the launch of the Official Android Blog. Everything has been migrated so you don’t have to worry about losing anything.

  Google’s managing director of Google Canada, Chris O’Neill, started a new blog today. An individual starting a blog may not be newsworthy, but when it is an official blog for Google, that gets our attention.
