no network RHEL 6b2

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I've just installed RHEL 6beta2 (using KDE desktop & cable modem) and cannot get it to connect to network/internet. Ihere are no hardware issues; same rig will connect to internet using a live cd. Googled around for a while, but can't find any help. Does anyone know how to do this? (HowTos)

Hello there, I am new to RedHat, and I installed RHEL 5.1 on my laptop (Acer aspire 4736z). After my installation I found out my LAN and wireless network is not working.

using following command shows my ethernet and wireless devices as :

/sbin/lspci

Wireless Network Adapter : Atheros comunication inc. AR928X (PCI express)

I need to set up a small network but without using any gui tools. My network consists of 4 PCs connected through a switch. One of the PCs is also connected to the internet through a USB CDMA1X EV-DO modem (ppp interface). Now, I have designated this PC to be the default gateway for all the other machines.

Hi:

I just installed Kanotix Excalibur on my college machine. It has a static IP address. I am unable to connect to the internet. WICD or whatever network manager on Kanotix Excalibur states that it is connecting for a while and then states cannot connect.

How can I set my internet connection straight on my Machine.

Running Mandriva One 2010, wireless works great in Live mode. When installed, I can only connect to unsecured networks (BTFon, BTOpenzone) but not to my own BTHomeHub network, which has a WPA key. I guess the problem is something to do with wpa_supplicant, but I'm not 100% sure what to do about it.

I all, I 've two computer with Ubuntu 9.10 (desktop version)connected by cross over cable. I try to connect this computers in LAN with the following command:

ifconfig eth0 [address] netmask [netmask] up

I'm running the 64-bit version of Fedora 12 on a MacBookPro5,1 system. I am unable to connect to my wireless network, which shows up in the list of available wireless networks.

I will enter my password and the system will try for several seconds to establish a connection and then fail.

i have the huawei 1550 3g modem (prepaid) tele2 and a nokia 5800 both working on on other dists,installed vwdial and vwdialconf finds the nokia and and recognize it as a modem.vwdial connects and hang up kppp same story. what is the deal with the phone? i have all the settings right it should really just work.

Hi all! I'm new to this forum, so hello. My problem is the following:

I can only connect to the internet and download through the FTP, but not through HTTP.

I am in a hospital at this moment and have a netbook (Lemote Yeelong). Also there is a computer here with internet access. I would like to access the internet by using the cable from the computer.
