Hello. I brought my computer with Ubuntu 9.10 installed alongside Windows Vista home for the Christmas break. I turned it on today in hopes that I could get on, play around with Linux a little bit, and then do some homework on it. Unfortunately, I intend to get some software which I desperately need to do my work, and this requires internet usage.
I just installed Ubuntu on my laptop yesterday and it connected to the wireless fine. Then I took it to school, put it on their wired connection, downloaded some stuff, and now the wireless doesn't work.
At first it would detect networks, but not connect. I restarted it and now it can connect, but it acts like it doesn't have internet in the browser. Wired connection still works fine on it.
I just installed Kubuntu 12.04 on a new computer with an Asus motherboard containing onboard NIC. The onboard NIC is enabled in BIOS. I don't happen to have a spare network card to test with. The internet connection is via a D-Link router, either wired or wireless via T-Link USB wireless adapter. The internet connection works fine for other computers on the network (2 wired and 1 wireless).
I have a Compaq pessario CQ60, a wireless network, and a Atheros AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter and I cant get the wireless internet to connect. the wireless works fine on vista, and I got the internet working via cable, but I need to get it working wirelessly. I am a beginner to linux, but know a little ( nothing in terminal though).
Hello all, my name is John and I am currently living in china but I'm from Virginia, I have just installed Ubuntu on my HP laptop and I am having a problem with the internet connection. At work there is a wireless connection that the computer will connect to with no problem but at home i have a Modem/Wireless route unit I'm guessing that's called a mini PPPOE?
Hi! I've had this problem for a long time now. Maybe someone here can help me solve it.
My computer sees the wireless network at home, ChinaNet-zbgJ. The dsl router is brand new, they just changed things to make it faster. I have the password, it is written on the router.
I am completely new to all UNIX-based operating systems, and installed Ubuntu 9.04 a few days ago. Naturally one of the first things I wanted to do was to connect it to the internet (from what I gather an internet connection is integral to using linux), and to connect it to the internet I needed to connect it to my home wireless network.
Hi.
My problem is my desktop PC with fedora 17 and kde which I can't detect the wireless network with WPA in home to access internet. I live in a student residence and the only INTERNET available is a network wireless with WPA. I plugged a wireless USB adapter Digitech and fedora didn't have problem to start working automatically with it.
I've just installed ubuntu on my laptop and I'm trying to connect to the wireless network that the other computers in my house are using.
