No GLX Dell XPS 15 GT525M

http://askubuntu.com – I have a Dell XPS 15 with the GT525M (Optimus) videocard. With a fresh Ubuntu 11.10 installation (enabling the additional nvidia drivers) GLX doesn't work. I am not receiving the Unity 3D option when logging into Ubuntu 11.10. The only options I have are GNOME, GNOME Classic, GNOME Classic (No effects), Ubuntu, and Ubuntu 2D. I ran the test /usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p.

I have installed the latest .deb Google Earth from Google, but the Google window is black (where the earth should be) Plus all 3D options are greyed out.

I have checked my graphics card, and 3D is enabled.

As shown here:

After upgrading my laptop to 12.10 the AMOR animations are messed up. I use the Neko character.

The dash home button brings up a panel that is greyed out, but it is totally empty.

It seems to be the very same issue as this: Dash home button brings up blank window which is unanswered.

/usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p returns

Unity dash is really slow and unresponsive, it takes between 5 and 20 seconds just to load.

I'm running a laptop with 2gb ram, AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-64 × 2, Gallium 0.4 on ATI RS690 graphics.

I've run Xnest server.

I have recently installed Vmware workstation 9 on Ubuntu 12.04 & i have migrated my VM's from windows to Ubuntu 12.04 . Now i am getting openGL error & it says no 3D acceleration as shown in pic below

How Do I Fix It ?

Before i have windows 7 ( host os ) & it was working fine with 3D Acceleration & no OpenGL error .
