No fan speed control on HP dv6

view story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – I have a hp dv6t with switchable graphics (i7 integrated graphics + Radeon). When I first got the laptop, I had problems with several Linux distros where the fans were going at full blast and the laptop got really hot. The problem is that AMD switchable graphics haven't really been supported in Linux. The solution I found was to disable the Radeon card completely, and just run off of the Intel integrated graphics. Upon disabling the Radeon card, the fans stopped blowing like a hair dryer, the laptop wasn't as hot, and the battery life increase substantially.Follow the guide in this w (HowTos)
