Try my page on this. It covers manual installation of hplip for CentOS. http://home.roadrunner.com/~co... [by scottro]
In short, attached a terminal screenshot of me trying to install hplip. Anyone any idea why hplip-3.9.10.run doesn't recognise the fact that gcc has already been installed?
I am using Slackware 14.1 (64-bit) and still very inexperienced.
I need to install the latest HPLIP (v. 3.14.10, available from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/gethplip.html) so that I can properly set up my printer.
I did notice the installation instructions available here http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web...slackware.html but was wondering if that is the best way to do the install.
