No /dev/dvb from Hauppauge 1290 TV card

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – FC17 x86_64 all patches on HP p6680t. TV board is PCIe Hauppauge 1290 with cx23888 chip supplied by HP on purchase of machine. Works perfectly on Windows 7 (dual boot machine), but I really don't wanna run 'doze. Also worked when Mandriva was previously installed on the same maching, (although MythTV had a lot of issues.) This is the first time I have tried to get this to work since installing Fedora (several months, FC16 then FC17). All of the tv packages want a device. Here is where I should have expected it to be: ls -la /dev/dvb* /dev/vid* ls: cannot access /dev/dvb*: No suc (HowTos)
