Hi, im using an Intel Core 2 Quad (Q8400 @ 2.66ghz) and when i use
cat /proc/cpuinfo all informatino is correct except my clock speeds, heres my output:
processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 23
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8400 @ 2.66GHz
stepping : 10

Would you please explain me what kind of differences between these two CPUs have:

Hi!
This is probably a stupid question, but here goes. After updating to F12 with preupgrade, i started noticing that my two cpu processorscaling applets in gnome acted strange. It turned out to not be able to modify CPU1 at all. /proc/cpuinfo gives me
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 23
@the sad clown: all hardware that is normally connected to the PC is listed in the first post.
Hi Guys,
I have a AMD Semperon LE-1300 processor. Linux is saying I only have 1.006 GHz when my processor is capable of 2.3 GHz. HOW DO I FIX THIS!?!?!?
I used the command cat /proc/cpuinfo to see if it was an application that was manipulating the speed of my processor. and I got this:
Code:
processor : 0
How can I tell whether my processor has a particular feature? (64-bit instruction set, hardware-assisted virtualization, cryptographic accelerators, etc.) I know that the file /proc/cpuinfo contains this information, in the flags line, but what do all these cryptic abbreviations mean?
For example, given the following extract from /proc/cpuinfo, do I have a 64-bit CPU?
2x Xeon E5620 .
16 Cores altogether.
/proc/cpuinfo shows cache is only @ 4096kb
According to intel this should have 12MB of "smart cache".
Doing searched for E5620 and CPUinfo shows the correct number:
cache size : 12288 KB
However mine shows this:
processor : 15
v endor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 44
model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU
