Linux is not a platform built for games, but that doesn't mean that we can't have fun and that there aren't some amazing games available.
Probably one of the most famous games for the Linux platform is Battle for Wesnoth, a turn-based strategy with a fantasy setting.
The game is quite stable and has been in development for years.
If you do a quick search about strategy games in Ubuntu 11.10‘s Software Center, then you may find a lot of strategy games to try but in this post I’ll introduce you with a turn-based tactical strategy game.

Hello everyone,I have the following annoying issue with battle for wesnoth:Whenever the game goes to fullscreen or starts in fullscreen it sometimes (other times it works fine) causes my system to freeze, i.e. I still see my gnome desktop and the gnome bars and a window titled "wesnoth 1.10" with all black content.

tried the sudo apt get install -f - still not working get the same message. I tried to run the game, put the sudo apt-get upgrade -f but still no result. so please give me some advice and the name of the wesnoth package at least. thank you in advance.

More often than not Final Fantasy Tactics for people who grew up on Playstation. Shining Force for the older crowd like me. But on the PC it is a little harder to come across any games of this genre. Sure there are a few but none really like that Final Fantasy Tactics feel.
Hello! :D Whenever I run a fullscreen game (e.g. 'Battle for Wesnoth' ) all of my system tray applications close. Nothing appears to happen to regular applications, ( e.g. Thunderbird or Terminal ) though.I decided to test something out by running nm-applet in a terminal, then running Wesnoth.
