Hi all a dev on XDA has released a patch for the Nexus 5 camera that improves the bitrate and autofocus a fair bit. Here is a guide on how to install it... You need Root
Android director of engineering David Burke announced just the other day that the team was working on Android 4.4.1, an update largely filled with bug fixes involving the Nexus 5 camera.
“All of this gets a boost with an update to Android 4.4.1 rolling out to Nexus 5,” Burke said.
I unpacked my brand new Nexus 4 yesterday. Everything seemed fine until I fired up the camera app. Everything was really blurry and the autofocus didn't seem to work at all! We're not talking about some minor autofocusing problem here, but a huge deal breaking disaster...
Now that we know that the Nexus 5 is made by LG and is probably based on the G2, it’s likely to sport Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The phone is shown in all its glory via the FCC, and it appears it has the same camera module found on the LG G2.
A great camera is one feature that never found its way onto a Nexus device.
I have a custom camera view that extends SurfaceView. Sets the following params. The images appear blurred on Nexus 7 Generation 2 Back Camera that has a 5 MP camera. These are the following parameters that I am setting for the Camera. I don't have this issue at all on phones and other tablets.
