It used to be called the Galaxy Nexus Root toolkit, but with version 1.5, it’s now called the Nexus Root Toolkit because it supports all Nexus devices, including the Nexus 7. WugFresh is famous for giving us the quick and easy way to unlock and root the Galaxy Nexus as well as flash it back to stock and re-lock it.
Hi Everyone,
I am having issues with my previously rooted Nexus 7. My device was rooted when it first came with Nexus 7 toolkit v2.0 and was rooted successfully. After an update to android 4.2 via the OTA updates, the root status was taken off from the device so I've used to tookit again to restore the root.
Although there is a simple root toolkit for the Nexus 10, we always stress the importance of unlocking and rooting your device the manual way. It gives you a better understanding of how things work, but we do understand why you might want to go the easy route.
Hi, I have just unlocked my bootloader and rooted my Nexus 7 on 4.2.1 JellyBean. Everything was successful, until now. I backed up with the root toolkit before unlocking the bootloader. After rooting was completed, I tried to use the "Restore" option on the toolkit. Everything works, until it just freezes.
Hi all, I've been contemplating whether or not I should root my brother's Nexus 7 using Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit. I have a few questions about the whole process too.
1) If I use the Toolkit, then do I still run the risk of hard bricking it? I really can't afford to brick it.
2) If I do brick it, will restoring it to a factory image even work?
Hi all,
Since I'm new to this forum I was not allowed to post on the developers threat, so I made a new one hoping some one could help me.
My new nexus 7 arived a few days ago and I had rooted it using the Nexus root Toolkit 1.5.4.
I previously rooted my nexus 7. Now, probably because of the latest update, it does not appear to be rooted.
I originally rooted it with the "Nexus Root Toolkit v. 1.5.5 by WugFresh".
It's been a while since I posted anything here. . .
While I'm a bit late to the rooting bandwagon with the GNex, I am glad to finally be able to root my beloved phone.
I'm currently in the process of backing up all the data that is in my GNex's virtual SD card, and saving it on my computer, because I plan on unlocking the phone and rooting it tonight.
Have tried unrooting back to phone original and rerooting tried [Toolkit] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.1 [Updated 11/30/12]: Nexus S 4G Thread and Shabbypenguin Nexus Root 8.0 can anyone suggest a patch or zip is it in boot img something turned off? It use to work.
