http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I read a lot of things here about mounting external HD. Only one post from 2004 was close so it wouldn't hurt to ask again... My Linux F11 book says use dmesg to check the kernel's opinion of what's up. Then, look for an attempt to connect. I know nothing about HW. From this what can I ask fdisk to use to mount the usb drive? /media/usb??? And, why the usb 1 -through- 3? Code: b 1-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 usb 1-3: New USB device found, idVendor=05ab, idProduct=0060 usb 1-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=73, Product=90, SerialNumber=110 usb 1-3: Product: USB Storage Adapter usb 1-3: Manufacturer: In-System Design usb 1-3: SerialNumber: 11100E00003BB692 usb 1-3: configuration #2 chosen from 1 choice scsi4 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices usb-storage: device found at 4 usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning usb-storage: device scan complete usb 1-3: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 usb 1-3: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 That said. I'll also say I was unable to get this to mount as my main drive during installation. I could only see 20G of the drive, but the label said 80G. It may be junk, but shouldn't I be able to get some software to tell me that?
