Hello,
having spent the last few days trying to solve the sound problems,
I have moved a step further, but still some help would be *higly*
appreciated.
I have a fresh installation of OpenSuse 11.2 32-bit. My soundcard
is Terratec EWX 24-96. The card is detected in Yast, and I can play
Recently installed 11.2x64 with KDE4.
Everything is working great (excellent release!) with the exception of sound.
The sound works well when only one app needs it, but sound only works for one app. If another program is open, it has no sound.
Some examples: - If I am listening to an .mp3 with VLC, I don't get sound in a movie in SMplayer.
I'm running OpenSuSE 11.2, 64-bit version, and after some system upheavals I now have no sound. Other indications of what is wrong (redacted to remove redundancies):
Code:
suillus2:~ # speaker-test -Dplug:front -c2 -l5 -twav
speaker-test 1.0.18
Playback device is plug:front
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels
WAV file(s)
Hi there,
I recently updated to 11.2 - everything is running smoothly, except sound with Flash in Firefox.
I installed the latest plugins (32 bit also) from Adobe's website and download.openSuse and checked that the volume is cranked up - no sound with Flash videos (youtube and the like).
When I log in, the welcome sound plays.
Hi,
I'm getting puzzled: I don't want to use Amarok any more, as I don't like the new interface in 2.x and don't find a way to install 1.4 within OpenSuse 11.2.
openSuse v11.1
linux 2.6.27.39-0.2-default x86_64
realtek acl1200 codec
Sound for various devices is at best erratic. It is hit or miss whether sound emits at any given time.
Sometimes Flash player (in Firefox) has sound, sometimes not.
Hi all,
Hello,
I have installed openSuSE 11.2 x86_64 with KDE 4.3 on a VGN_AR41L. I use firefox for web browsing and I have installed the add-on DownThemAll for download manager. In Windows when a download finishes the DownThemAll add-on produces a sound. This does not happen in openSuSE. My sound card works well because I can hear sound from Youtube videos.
Any advice?
I'm using a Lenovo (IBM) Think Pad R51.
Here is the link to the website with sound debug information:

I get terminal output from a sound test that suggests all is fine:
Code:
speaker-test -Dplug:front -c2 -l5 -twav
speaker-test 1.0.23
