A tale told by an idiot.
It was 6 o'clock in the mourning I haven't gone to bed all night. I was looking at random programs on the internet. And I installed Ubuntu on my Windows Vista Toshiba Labtop. Computer screen went black nothing was working so I held the power button down. Now computer won't boot.
I have spent 24 hours doing everything you could think of to re-boot my computer.
Hi everyone,
A while back I was using my computer playing videogames and it just randomly shut off. Not knowing why it shut off I turned it back on and it worked great. Slowly over time this problem became worse and worse, playing videogames, it would shut off. After it happening a handful of times, found out that my computer was overheating and it was shutting off because of too much heat.
Okay, the problems with my computer are becoming unacceptable, and no one has even tried to help me with them yet. Hibernate works, sure. I STILL NEED TO BOOT FROM A USB BOOTABLE DRIVE, OR ELSE IT STILL WILL NOT BOOT!Now, I have an even worse problem!!! Almost every time I try to turn the computer on, right after it actually powers on, it will power off.
It's not about my Ubuntu 12.10 x64, but also My Mint Cinnamon x64. When I press shutdown, it becaming shutdown. Power indicator of CPU turn off for a second, then the computer turn on. I have to boot from Windows 7 (loader) to turn off my computer.
It might be the same with this case, but I have multi OS installed on my computer with Windows 7 loader.
My issue here is unique. There are times when I need to turn the router off while the computer is on. When I turn the router back on, with the computer still on, I want the machine to sense a connection and connect. This does not happen. I'd have to go to the computer, click about and get it connected.
My son in law called round today whilst I was at work and used my computer. Dunno what he has done , but now when I select shutdown, the computer doesn't shutdown, but goes to the login screen. I've checked the settings and am convinced it should shutdown completely when I select turn computer off. Any Ideas ??
Hello, all. I hope someone here can help me with a somewhat bizarre problem.
While I was using a Ubuntu 9.1 live CD, I put the computer (Toshiba Satellite C655) into standby.
Hi, my computer is having issues when I try to put it to sleep (suspend). When I close my laptop (in power settings, i have ti set to suspend) or hit the suspend but in the menu bar, the computer screen goes black (but still backlit) and it continues to run (also, the wifi indicator shows that wifi is turn off).
This is really more of an annoyance than anything, but thought I would see if anyone knows what to do. Most of the time when I turn the computer on my bluetooth does not recognize any devices including my mouse. If I turn the bluetooth off then back on it works fine, and wont have any issues until the next time I turn the computer on.
