How To Install MySQL 5.6 On Ubuntu 12.10 (Including memcached Plugin)
According to What's New in MySQL 5.6,
MySQL 5.6 will bring some performance improvements over MySQL 5.5. If
you want to test out MySQL 5.6, you have to install one of the
development releases from the MySQL downloads page
because there is no stable release yet.
I am following mysql instructions on how o install mysql with YUM, but that doesnt seem to work
here are the instructions and the output:
sudo yum localinstall mysql-community-release-el6-5.noarch.rpm
Failed to set locale, defaulting to C
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Setting up Local Package Process
Cannot open: mysql-community-release-el6-5.noarch.rpm. Skipping.
Nothing to do
