The Calligra team is proud and pleased to announce version 2.5 of Calligra. This is the second stable release of the Calligra Suite and Calligra Active, the mobile variation of Calligra. Version 2.5 of Calligra office and creativity suite brings a number of new or improved features.
The preview release of Calligra 2.6, the next major version of the open source productivity application suite, now includes "Author", a writing tool aimed at professional authors.
The Calligra project has announced the first snapshot release of the Calligra suite, five months after Calligra and KOffice split ways. During that time, the Calligra team has improved the core libraries and all the applications.

Calligra 2.6.2, an integrated suite of applications for office, creative and management needs, has been released on March 13.
According to the developer, Calligra 2.62 is just a bugfix release and it's a recommended update for all the users of this office suite.

The Calligra Suite is an unusual compilation of office tools with much potential -- but it has a good deal of maturing to do before it can advance beyond its mediocre performance following a debut almost three years ago. Calligra is a fork of KDE's KOffice that grew out of unresolved disputes among KOffice developers. The project team recently announced the second stable release.
