Nvidia announced the new NVIDIA GeForce drivers – R310 for GNU/Linux distributions, which is supposed to double the current graphics performance, specially the loading time for games. If you want to play games using Steam for Linux client, recently beta is launched for Ubuntu 12.04 – then you must update your NVIDIA drivers.

The AMD/Nvidia drivers for Ubuntu, SUCK. Ive downloaded the proprietary AMD drivers for an AMD 7950 for Ubuntu and I was getting so much more lag and much less FPS than on Windows when playing Minecraft (I didnt use OpenJDK On linux, I used Java 7). The same goes on a GeForce GT 220.
i'm running the lastest version of Slater and i'm having a hard time setting up my Nvidia drivers (GeForce 7600GS). also having a difficult time getting my favorite game Warsow 0.62 (http://www.warsow.net Linux source binaries on a .zip file) to work.First the Nvidia problem:if i go to install the drivers from Synaptic it says there's missing dependencies.
