I am among those unfortunate wretches with an Atheros wireless card (ar5001) and I've had problems with it from the day I installed Ubuntu. I've been using Madwifi to connect to the internet, and it's worked fine, until I lately changed my internet connection, got a new modem etc.
hi , I am trying to install atheros AR5007EG on my toshiba laptop -i figured out that best way to install this wireless card is through madwifi -while configuring madwifi i get this error
i have a old thinkpad 390e with xubuntu im trying to get a netgear wpn511 to work on it. i tried to go to madwifi.com and every like i try i get some form of fobidden even on my netbook (using linkssys usb till i can figure out wireless card.
i was wondering how to switch to madwifi or ath5k from ndiswrapper?if i modprobe ath5k then restart my internet connection doesnt work and lspci -k displays ndiswrapper as being used.is this a good way to switch to madwifi?http://madwifi-project.org/wiki/Compati os/AR5005G
