I'm running 12.04. Every time I plug the ethernet cable into a router (and I've tried multiple routers) the wired connection connects, then quickly disconnects. It continues to do this, cycling through connected and disconnected.
Wireless connection works completely fine. Regardless of if I have the wireless adapter on or off, if I've plugged in the ethernet cable the cycling begins.
Well, my Conure was trying to remove some buttons off my laptop and he managed to get rid of my wireless connection. I'm having to use the ethernet cable.
Network only shows Wired and Point to Point. It used to have Wireless, but that option is gone and I can't find anything to set up a new wireless connection....
Hi everyone,
My ubuntu 12.04 lts does not detect any wireless network unless i reboot with the ethernet connection. With the ethernet connection, both the wifi and ethernet are detected and at that point in time, even if i remove the cable, the system keeps on running with the wifi.
However, each time , i am having to boot my laptop with the cable to be able to go on the net .
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on a Dell Lattitude 620 laptop with a Broadcom 4331 card and a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580. I'm listing all of this stuff, because I'm really not sure which part the problem is coming from.
I have an LG VZW broadband USB adapter that my company provides and it is activated and working on Windows7 but can't get it working in Ubuntu 12.04. I've created a mobile broadband connection in Network Connections and have all the settings setup as I believe they should be according to this Raving Rick blog post.
I'm not sure how to use this connection though.
Hello
I use pppoe connection over wireless network, for long time I've used console, so I didn't had any problem with it, BUT - after installing gnome, I can't connect to the wireless ISP. On my network manager I see my wireless network, I can connected to it, but when I do it, I don't see DSL connection on my menu, If I only connect cable to it, DSL connection is showing again.
Hi, I want to install Ubuntu, I have installed it before, and there is no WPA2 support. It can detect my wifi network, but it won't let me click it. If I try to add it manually, it will freeze up at the enter encryption key dialog, and I won't be able to type it in, because there is nowhere to type it in!
Complete novice about wireless setup/use.
I need a yes/no answer as to if what I want to do will work and if yes then what is the term for the setup so I can search for some information.
I have a desktop pc connected by ethernet cable to a Modem/router/switch that came bundled with our connection.
