I was amused by his question: "Is Linux black and white?".Some people (especially geeks) prefer dark themes, but most people don't. I could suggest something like my desktop or something like the Lubuntu default theme.

Hi everyone, I am new with CrunchBang, but I have almost 12 years as linux user, I began with Red Hat, Mandrake, Mandriva and Ubuntu; but I was using a computer with CrunchBang, and it is very friendly. And that was the inspiration to learn (as much as possible) this software and start programming with Java and C++. I've just installed CrunchBang on my computers (3).Have a nice day
I have installed the stable #! edition, but unfortunatelly the kernel is too old for my needs, as some drivers have problem with the old kernel. The question is if the Backport edition of crunchbang will be stable enough for everyday use as a main OS? I relly on linux completely, but have never used #! before. All my previous distros were very bulky like Fedora and Ubuntu.

It's not a limitation of CrunchBang, but of Openbox. I think your best option would be to install XFCE, if it wasn't already pulled in by crunchbang-multi-session.Once you've installed XFCE, you should be able to select it from the GDM login screen.
