If you are one of the many people waiting to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S III through Verizon, brace yourself for a delay. According to Verizon’s web site, the availability date is now July 12th, two days later than the previously announced July 10th date. The change appears to only apply to new purchases.
As quickly as Samsung sent out their press release on U.S. availability of their Galaxy S III, Verizon and AT&T have set up landing pages for the device. Right now, Verizon’s page is simply a placeholder waiting for content. But AT&T’s page shows pictures of the device, specs, and other details.
Welcome to the party Verizon. Samsung released the source code for the Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T over a week ago so it was only a matter of time before Verizon customers got their fix. The Samsung open source bank has been updated to include the latest kernel files for the SCH-I535, the Verizon Galaxy S III.
Samsung previously announced a slew of new colors for its flagship Galaxy S III handset, but today the company is introducing a slightly less conservative hue. Beginning next week, customers will be able to pick up a Galaxy S III in pink. Initially, the handset will only be available in Korea, though its expected that the device will see a regional roll out in the near future.
We speculated that Verizon would release the Samsung Galaxy S III on June 21st, the same day as Sprint and T-Mobile. But now sources tell Android Central that the Verizon availability will begin much later on July 9th. Let’s hope this is just a rumor.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 has recently passed through the FCC sporting radios capable of utilizing Verizon’s LTE network. Nothing really new to be gained from this filing and you can expect the device to be similar to the one we recently reviewed. Except of course for the addition of LTE radios.
After a long period of pre-orders, Verizon has finally revealed November 29th as their official launch date of their Samsung Galaxy Note 2. With the ugly Verizon branding on the home button and all, the Note 2 packs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with a quad-core Exynos processor amd 2 GB’s of RAM.
