http://forums.opensuse.org – Hello all I'm having trouble getting my networked printer to print and am hoping someone can lend some advice. I'm running openSUSe 11.3 on a laptop and the printer is connected to my desktop which is running Windows XP. I have the printer and several folders and drives shared. I can see the folders and drivers on my laptop but I cannot get the printer to actually print. It is an HP printer but I am not using HPLIP. I can send a print job to the queue and the printer resets itself like it's going to print but nothing else happens and the print job just sits in the queue unt (Distributions)

I have a Netgear WNDR4500 wireless router which allows me to print wirelessly to a printer connected to it via a USB cable.

I am using 12.04 64 bit. I have noticed if I configure (connect) any printer when my machine is connected to Lan (eth port) then it takes print job only if I am connected to Lan. If I try any printing job on wifi, it gets stuck in the print queue.

This is hard for me to admit this; however, I need some help. :redface:

I have cups and samba set up on an old laptop as a printer server. The printer is an Epson Stylus NX215. The laptop is running Xubuntu 12.04.

My Linux computers can print to it without any problems.

I can connect to the laptop and add the printer in both Windows 7 and Vista.

Printer trouble 16 weeks 4 days ago

I setup my Canon MX870 while running F17. I successfully printed a test page, and didn't print anything after that. I upgraded to F18 and tried to print, but nothing was sent to the printer. I've checked Cups (localhost:631) and it shows that the print jobs completed. While trying to troubleshoot I found that I can't ping my printer anymore. Well, I can but not always.

graphical interface successfully located my epson stylus 110 printer and downloaded the drivers. I printed a ubuntu test page. The green light is on-on my printer, but when I select something to print, and see the logo "print executing" and and the bar completed, it doesn't print. On the print queue behind the above printer logo, it says " printer stopped ".

Running 11.04 SMB printer HP Photosmart 7150 shared by Windows XP sp3 USB printer Epson CX8400 AIO and yes everything works

1. Sent job to SMB printer and waited but no response so I sent the same job to the USB printer.

2. USB printer did not respond so I sent the same job back to the SMB printer and it started to print.

3. After the SMB job was finished the USB job started to print.

I have an HP Photosmart B210 this is a e-print printer capable of printing via wifi, I'm using this printer in Google cloud print, however there is a downside, the software that comes with it is only for Windows, so to print anything I'm using my Android device.

I'm having trouble with my HP Laserjet 1020. I'm running Karmic beta, but had the same problem under Jaunty...

If I plug the printer in, it seems to install fine. It uses the Foomatic driver. To print, I have to uncheck "sharing".
